Remy, born Reminisce Smith, is a rapper. She first stepped into the spotlight after being discovered by fellow rapper Big Pun and appearing on his 2000 posthumous album ‘Yeeeah Baby’. After the death of Big Pun, Fat Joe signed Remy to his record label and she became a member of his popular Terror Squad.
She went on to receive a Grammy Award nomination for the song ‘Lean Back’ by the Terror Squad before releasing her debut album ‘There’s Something About Remy: Based on a True Story’ in 2006. She went on to release a number of albums, mixtapes, and singles over the next few years and was nominated for two more Grammy Awards in 2016 for the song ‘All the Way Up’ with Fat Joe.
In addition to her music, she has appeared on the reality show ‘Love & Hip Hop: New York’ from 2015-2018. She has a child from one of her previous relationships and another she named Reminisce Mackenzie with fellow rapper Papoose, whom she married in 2016.
