DES MOINES, IOWA — A Des Moines-area photographer is facing federal charges for allegedly secretly recording minors with hidden cameras at his local studio spaces as the FBI is still working to identify more alleged local victims.
Jeffrey Walter Gray, 61, was arrested on Wednesday in Des Moines and charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Possession of Child Pornography.
According to a news release from the US Attorney’s Office, Gray is accused of secretly recording minors as they changed clothing at his business, Wicked Imagery. Federal authorities say Gray made the recordings between 2005-2016. In November 2023, authorities recovered a hard drive from Gray’s home that they say contained ‘child sexual abuse material.’
Authorities say they have identified 15 victims of Gray but are still working to identify others. The FBI has established a website with information specific to this case. Online records show the business formerly operated on the east side of Des Moines and currently at Gray’s home in the Easter Lake area. Wicked Imagery specialized in boudoir photography for adults and also children’s dance photos.
